Ms. Karina Reyes, Vice Principal

Dear Roosevelt Families,

I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the Roosevelt International Baccalaureate
Middle School Learning Community. This is my ninth year at Roosevelt and I love
the wonderful and enthusiastic students, supportive parents, talented and
hard-working staff, and our beautiful Balboa Park location. I believe that the
international-minded curriculum at our school is truly outstanding in preparing
students to be successful citizens of the future.

I have been a Vice Principal with the San Diego Unified School District for the last
19 years. Throughout my career as an educator, I have taught at the elementary,
middle and high school levels and served as a Vice Principal at a high school,
several middle schools, and a K-8 Middle School. I started teaching in San Diego
Unified School District in 1984, and have also served as a mentor teacher and
a resource teacher.

I am the proud parent of a son and daughter. My daughter graduated from San
Diego State University with a Construction Engineering degree at San Diego
State and my son is a mechanic. I am an avid surfer and enjoy camping,
gardening, and reading. I have traveled to Thailand, Europe, Japan, Hawaii,
Costa Rica and extensively throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.
I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Tanzania, Africa this summer
and go on safari!
