Good Evening Roosevelt Families,

It was great to see many of you at our Principal Town Hall on Friday.  Here is the recording for you to review.

It was a pleasure to listen to six of our music students perform in the SDUSD VAPA MS Honor Ensembles Concert on Saturday!  They sounded amazing.

Congratulations also to both our volleyball teams and our boys soccer team who earned wins this weekend!  Next week, I look forward to cheering on our soccer and volleyball athletes.

RMS Calendar Reminders:

• LATE START WEDNESDAY this week Feb 8.  1st Period starts at 9:30 AM.
• Core Academy this Saturday Feb 11.  All students are welcome to sign-up.
• SSC Meeting scheduled for this Thursday has been postponed.

We still need VOLUNTEERS for the RooFriends Presidents Holiday Parking Fundraiser:  February 18 & 19, 11 AM - 2 PM.

Please sign-up to support RMS STUDENTS & STAFF!!  *We will need to cancel if we do not have enough people to support this fundraiser, and miss out on raising much needed funds for the many RooFriends-sponsored education enrichment programs for RMS Students and Staff!

California School Parent Survey

Please complete this online survey for Roosevelt to learn more about your opinions and perceptions about our school.

Your participation is voluntary. It is also very important. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement.

Sign-Ups OPEN for Fleet Science Center BE Wise. 

Better Education for Women in Science & Engineering:  The Fleet Science Center encourages 7th and 8th Grade students to apply. Next door to school in Balboa Park!  Applications open until February 12.

San Diego High School Outreach.

The SDHS Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is now accepting nominations for their 2023-2024 Executive Board.  Nominations are open until February 15.  This is a great way for new and prospective SDHS Families to get involved at San Diego HS.

PrimeTime Spots Are Available Before and After School.

Cell Phone Policy Reminder.

On campus, Staff are seeing more students’ cell phones out, resulting in an increase in phones being sent to the school office.  Please remind your children that phone use is not allowed once they enter campus.  They may ask school office staff if they need support contacting parents, guardians, etc.

Field Trip Chaperones.

• Please start your chaperone paperwork now for Spring field trips!
• Complete the online SDUSD Volunteer Application to chaperone for field trips.  Contact Ms. Hernandez in the RMS Office for assistance: shernandez4@sandi.net.

Core Academy Saturday School | Attendance Reporting.

• The Core Academy dates for 2023 are: 2/11, 2/25, 3/11, 3/18, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6, 5/20, 6/3. All students are invited to attend. Please sign-up.
