Good Evening Roosevelt Families,

It was wonderful to see those of you that could make it to our Back to School Night Zoom Meeting last Thursday. If you were unable to attend, here are the slides I shared and the recording of our welcome/introduction.

School Site Council (SSC) Meeting

• Our first School Site Meeting will be held this Thursday, September 30th, at 4 pm.
• This meeting is open to the public

• After our formal SSC meeting, I will provide more information about Title I

Site Governance Team (SGT) Candidates/Election

I had to update our SGT Candidates list due to my oversight of leaving one candidate off of the ballot.  Thank you to Kim Schultz for your understanding, and to Robin Weersing for your support. Due to our school needs, Robin initially agreed to do both SSC and SGT, but had a preference to be on one team.  Robin will now only be a member of our SSC.  I really appreciated her sentiment that it is better to have “more voices at the table”, and having gotten to know Kim over the years, we are fortunate to have her on our SGT.  

• This means we have to start the voting process over; please vote on this ballot.  Once again we have four candidates for four positions.

COVID-19 Testing Reminder

• Students that will be tested will receive a pass in their first period tomorrow
• If your child does not receive a pass, you can bring them before school (8:00-8:30) to the gate to the left of our front office
• If your child does receive a pass and you do not want them to be tested, please let them know not to come at their assigned time
• Please visit this site to sign up and for other locations if needed

Candidatos / Elección del Equipo de Gobernanza del Sitio (SGT)

Tuve que actualizar nuestra lista de candidatos a SGT debido a mi descuido de dejar a un candidato fuera de la boleta. Gracias a Kim Schultz por su comprensión ya Robin Weersing por su apoyo. Debido a las necesidades de nuestra escuela, Robin inicialmente estuvo de acuerdo en hacer tanto SSC como SGT, pero tenía la preferencia de estar en un equipo. Robin ahora solo será miembro de nuestro SSC. Realmente aprecié su sentimiento de que es mejor tener “más voces en la mesa”, y habiendo conocido a Kim a lo largo de los años, somos afortunados de tenerla en nuestro SGT.

• Esto significa que tenemos que empezar de nuevo el proceso de votación; por favor vote en esta boleta. Una vez más tenemos cuatro candidatos para cuatro puestos.

Actualización de la prueba COVID-19

• Los estudiantes que serán evaluados recibirán un pase en su primer período mañana.
• Si su hijo no recibe un pase, puede traerlo antes de la escuela (8: 00-8: 30) a la puerta a la izquierda de nuestra oficina principal
• Si su hijo recibe un pase y usted no quiere que se le haga la prueba, avísele que no venga a la hora asignada.
