I hope everyone had a relaxing Spring Break!  It was nice to recharge before the final stretch of the school year.  Please remember to have your children take the at-home COVID tests provided by our district.

Additionally, as our district communicated, masks will no longer be required indoors or outdoors starting tomorrow.  Please discuss this with your child; specifically, what your expectations are and how to interact with other students who will choose a different option.  We expect that all students are respectful of the choices made by each student/family.

La Jolla Playhouse Opportunity for Students

La Jolla Playhouse will be providing another wonderful after school opportunity called Devised Theatre from April 4-May 13, Monday-Friday, 3:30-5:00 each day in the Library.  There will be two sections that students can sign up for, each session is three weeks long, and a student may sign up for both.  Please see the attached flier for more information and to sign up!

Principal Town Hall Friday, April 8th at 9 am

I will be hosting my next Principal Town Hall this coming Friday at 9 am.

CAASPP Testing Window

• We will be administering California State Tests to all students in May
• The English tests will be completed from May 11-13 and the Math tests will be completed from May 18-20.
• We will have a modified schedule for English & Math testing days and all students will take these portions of the tests with their Advisory Teachers
• 8th Graders will complete the science portion in their science classes on May 9,10,16 & 17.
• The week of May 23-27 will be for Make-Ups
• More information regarding the specifics of our schedule will come as we get closer.

RMS Welcomes Afghan Refugee Students

Monday Morning Art Sessions Will Resume April 12

While there will not be a session tomorrow morning, Dr. Herndon will continue hosting Monday morning art sessions in room 315 at 7:15.  This opportunity is open to all students, no sign up required!

Summer School Registration-Monday is the last day to register!!

• We have been given an extension to sign students up for our Summer School Experience!  While we do not know the topic of the curriculum at this point, we do know that there will be a similar focal point to last year's lessons about the impacts of water in our community, as well as a focus on social/emotional health.
• Enrollment is OPEN to ALL current Roosevelt students in grades 6-8.
• Students enrolled in the summer experience will remain in their current grade level. (i.e., Current 6th grade students will remain in 6th grade during summer, current 8th grade students will remain in 8th grade during summer, etc.).
• Roosevelt Level Up Summer School is 5 weeks, 4 hours/day,  June 21 – July 22, 2022, 9am-1pm

• Please fill out this form if you wish to enroll your student in Roosevelt's Summer/ESY Experience by the end of the day, Monday, April 4th!. A submission is necessary for each student.

• If you have already filled out and submitted the district offered form, you do NOT need to fill this out again. If you would like to confirm your child's enrollment, please email cbarajas1@sandi.net.
