Good Afternoon Roosevelt Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you have had a restful and healthy holiday season. I know we are all dealing with uncertainty, as 2022 is beginning with the increase in COVID cases nationwide.  To that end, please review the information below carefully.  We will continue to prioritize the safety of our students as we return to school tomorrow.  Thank you!

• Prior to break, students received a box with two at-home COVID tests. One test was to be taken on Friday, and the other test is for this Monday morning before returning to school.  

• Please let us know directly if your child tests positive; you can email Ms. Vallejo, our attendance clerk at jvallejo@sandi.net

• Please review the full communication from our district, including how to upload results

• Uploading results is not required for coming back to school but will be helpful in our ability as a community to keep all students safe.

• The CDC strongly recommends vaccines and the booster shot as they are effective at preventing serious illness and death.
• I’ve also seen guidance to avoid cloth masks moving forward
• As always, please keep your children home if they have any COVID symptoms

After School Enrichment Applications are Now Open

Friends of Roosevelt Foundation is proud to present the Spring 2022 After School Enrichment program! The application process for next semester's after-school clubs is open from now until January 7th. Please go to roofriends.org, click on "programs," and then "after school enrichment" to learn about all the clubs and to submit your applications.   Thank you to our wonderful RooFriends Foundation for providing such amazing opportunities for our students!

Message From SDHS About 9th Grade Articulation

San Diego High School counselors will be visiting Roosevelt Middle School on January 6th and 7th to walk students through the articulation process of selecting high school courses for the 2022-2023 school year.  Attached is a copy of the paper articulation card students will be using to select classes on those dates.  Once complete, they will then use their technology to fill out a Google Form with their choices.  Students are encouraged to make a copy or take a picture of their paper articulation card to bring home to their families to ensure the proper courses were selected, as they will be collected the day of course selection, so we have a hard copy of student’s choices on file.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the process, please visit our website at theschoolcounselor.org for more info, Here is the Zoom Link: https://sandiegounified.zoom.us/j/89337462794
